My second detail with a DA. Thought i would try and improve the paint on my 2000 GT. The car is far from perfect but in above average condition. Minor swirls in the paint from washing and quick detailing. The decklid had alot of oxidation. It wasn't only visible, it felt like sandpaper. I was able to get ALL of that out. Total time spent was around 9 hours. Not a professional job but i am happy with the results. The pics of the lights listed below are my attempt to show the swirl free finish. Silver is a difficult color to give that visual 'pop' but the autoglym wax helped define it more - awesome wax!

Looks amazing! I just did a detail on mine this past weekend and used many of the same products, including the AGHD...such an amazing wax!

Side note, where the heck did you get your chin spoiler? I haven't seen them in matte finish with the ends going all the way back to the wheel well in a long time!

The white pad doesn't have much cut, so your paint was probably pretty decent to begin with.

I had to use the CCS yellow, orange, white, and finally black on mine and that didn't even get "all" the swirls out. But I wasn't using a super aggressive polish.

I used to tape everything off too, but it was such a hassle and I found not really necessary.

Keep a spray bottle with a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol & water. Then just be careful around trim when polishing and any polish that gets on it can easily be removed with the alcohol/water mix. Then, for the final wax/sealant/whatever, just do the large areas with machine and detailed areas near trim by hand. Way faster than taping.

Not to mention I've had tape leave glue and had to remove that...yes, even painters tape has left glue for me.

thanks ! so you are big fan of the AG too? got mine on clearance at walmart for $10 !!

ill have to ask the girlfriend where she got the chin, it was a gift. im thinking it came from latemodelrestoration. seems it xenon brand.

^ seriously... it's such a small change but it makes a huge difference in the appearance of the 99-04's IMO. Should have come with the Mach 1/Bullitt c-pillar from the factory
