Ok. I'm started on what I can do now toward my FiTech fi. I think i'll be swapping my timing cover(72) for a newer one i have(87), instead of buying a block off plate. Question...has anyone drilled a newer cover for a dipstick? Mine has a provision, everything looks right just no hole. Or would I be better off just blocking the fuelpump hole?

You can get a block-off plate for just a few dollars from Speedmaster on Ebay. They even have color choices.

If you already have the timing cover off, make sure all of the other provisions on the two covers are the same, and if so, and you feel comfortable with it, you can drill the newer cover.

Just a side note, last time I sold a late model timing cover on Ebay, I got over $20 for it, far more than enough to cover the block off plate cost.
