Disabling airbag...can it still deploy??

Read first before flaming. Putting an SN95 steering wheel into my NON-AIRBAG Fox-body.

I can snag cheap airbags off ebay for $30-40 or so. A UPR delete is $90. Problem is i'm worried about putting an airbag in.

But if it's not powered, it won't go off right? I don't even have a connector to power it. I'm merely using it to fill the empty space on my wheel.

Is there a way to permanently disable the charge? Or should i be good just bolting it in since it's not even powered up?

I know the perfect way to disable the charge. Set off the bag!



You'll be fine if it has no power.

Disconnect the battery, let it sit for 10 minutes and then do as you please just make sure the circuits are hooked back up before you repower the system. Good luck.

I don't even have any airbag wiring in the car. Why do I need to disconnect the battery? There is nothing to disconnect or even hook up.

I just want to know if an unhooked up airbag can still go off on it's own.
