emergency brake

The best trick I found for getting the old cables out of the body is to secure the fingers down with a small hose clamp and then you can give it a quick yank and it will pull through.

anyone have a quick breakdown on how to replace the emergencybrake cables?

For the front cable, use two pair or vice grips and turn the spring cam while while holding the lock step button out. Spin the spring and once it has turned halfway, put a vice grip on the upper spring/cable runner. Take the drum out and remove the cable inside.

Underneath the car is easy. There are two cables that go to one, slip the rear cables out and pull on the old cable. The rear cables are fun. Harder if you have drums. Just try your best to follow the cable. I have replaced that front cable two times in two cars. PITA!!!!!!

Have fun
