i have an 03 gt that i just changed out the back brakes on and i was driving tonight and all of a sudden the brakes started squeaking and then a squeak started going when i was driving down the road ( squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak )
and then when i got home there was a weird smell in the back and there was tons and tons of heat coming off the rotors. Anyone know of anything?

Sounds like your slide pins are seized not allowing the caliper to self-center. The pins siezing into the caliper brackets is VERY common. Hopefully you can free them, clean them up, relube and reinstall using NEW rubber boots available at any parts store.

WHat's happening is the pad is being pressed against one side of the rotor as you drive since the caliper can't readjust due to the seized pins.

I bet when you took your old pads off, one side was worn down more than the other?
