i hear alot of people say "gt40" and i also hear people say "explorer" when talking about either heads or intake mani fold. arent they the same thing??? gt40 are the heads and intake manifold from the explorer correct??/ and if they are different, which would be better to put on a pretty much stock 95 gt? is there a way to tell them apart???

now when people say both gt40 and explorer they can be refering to several different parts.

explorer - is an intake manifold off a "duh" explorer's 5.0 engine. which is essentially a cobra, or cast version of the gt40 intake manifold. it can also be confusing as 5.0 explorers had gt40 heads too.

gt40 - there is a intake, its tubular, once u see one u wont ever mistake it for anything else, all of teh runners are seperate tubes. there are also gt40 heads in many varites.. gt40s, gt40ps, and all of the aftermarket ford alum heads are gt40something.

kinda answered which u should use in your other thread
