I should have my '78 King Cobra running within the next 2 weeks after a complete and thorough rebuild of everything. If all goes well, I'll spend a few weeks driving it to shake out all of the bugs, and then it will be delivered to my exhaust guy for a complete custom fabbed set of headers and side exit exhaust. After that, I will begin stripping the car for paint prep, including a soda blast of the whole car.
During the times the '78 is out of the garage, I've got a pile of parts to install on the Shelby:
Kooks long tube headers and catted X-pipe, new
upper control arms and adjustable
panhard bar, Shelby short throw shifter, KKM pistol grip shifter, Granatelli line-lock, hood struts, and a handful of trim items (shiny stuff).
Throw in a heater core and blower motor change on the Bronco, and I should be booked until spring!
By the time spring arrives, I'm going to have a grin on my face each time I have to decide what I want to drive.
