Firing problem

Hey guys i have a 97 4.6 it was starting fine but wasnt furing on b cylinders 1 and 6 .i changed coils plugs and wires and same problem I changed wires again and now I'm backfiring from exuast when I try to crank it and won't stay running,.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My recommendation. Double check the spark plug routing to be sure that the correct coil pack slot has been connected to the correct cylinder.

Then by using a "noid" style tester, confirm there is a firing pulse from the PCM on the primary side of the coil pack.

Then use the "noid" tester to confirm that the injectors are receiving a firing pulse. Not a bad idea to also use a mechanic's stethoscope to "listen" to each injector.
