I know crown vic calipers can be used but is there a company that makes an aftermarket pad or would local part store pads have to be used??

Look up performance pads for 84-86 SVO's. They are the same calipers

Also, you can use standard Mustang performance pads. You just need to bend the prongs out a bit. No big deal

ok so i ask this.. what makes the svo calipers better then? is there any difference or just the ability to buy the svo's with the steel piston?

Svo calipers have phenolic pistons. If you get crown vic w/police package calipers, they come with a steel piston.

That's about it really. Same basic caliper just the steel ones are a bit heavy duty.
