Front sump oil pan with rear sump block, dip stick hole?

So I didn't realize this problem until I went to check my oil. I have a 2.3 Turbo in a 78 Mustang II. Everything except the oil pump and oil pan are from a 86 T-Bird, pan and pump are from a Pinto.

I think I see in the casting where the front sump block had the dipstick go. I was wondering if I could remove the oil pan and drill out the rest of the casting. I could modify the rear sump dipstick to go into that hole, put in 4 quarts, mark it on the dipstick, put in another quart and mark it again.

I know someone on here has put a 2.3 turbo into a Pinto or Mustang II, what did you guys end up doing?
