Fuel Cut-off Switch Clicking

I was jacking up my car today to store it away in the garage. Raised the front end first, and than the back. After I had lowered the rear end down onto the jack stands, the fuel cut-off switch started clicking rapidly. Resetting it did nothing, but after a few minutes it stopped.

Was this just because of the angle the car was at while I was putting it up on stands?

i would doubt taht. i mean what if you were driving up a hill at that angle.

i would put my bet on the switch itself being bad but wouldnt know quite how to check it. has it ever done it before or since?
