Fuel Strainer Lost In Tank???

I was replacing my fuel pump and the strainer fell off. I get my extra long needle nose plyers and I cant see that damn thing in there anywhere. I am fairly sure its hanging out in the sump somewhere. how do I fish that thing out? I've tried sloshing it around and no dice.

you might try a coathanger i got lucky one time.

I cant even see the damn thing. I would go and get another but I dont want this strainer to somehow find its way under the new one and choke the pump.

How much gas is in the tank? you could pump the rest of it out and try to turn the tank till it comes into sight.

too late.I bit the bullet and got another one. if this one dies I will know why.
