Got new gear, should I...?

Ok just got my gear delivered. Dont know how many miles are on the car b/c the speedo is broke, but sure its well over 100K(its an 87). Im pretty sure Im gonna buy a Trac-lock rebuild kit for it since Im gonna have the rear apart. Should I get bearings also? Are all trac-locks created equal or is any one better than the other? Any other suggestions while this thing is apart? Lemme know please! Thanks guys!!

There are at least two traction loks for the 8.8. The 28 spline is stock in Mustangs, and the 31 spline is stock in trucks, etc. The cross pin is bigger in the 31 spline. I think there is a Cobra version that is stronger still.

The 28 is good for most street use.

I have many dozen passes on my car with just a 7.5 axle.

teh stock 8.8 setup works good for street use, just get the rebuild kit, should come with bearings...
