Hello brainiacs,

Sometimes, alright, most times I have off beat, alright, odd questions. This would be one of them and I'm looking for some info. Before my current 95' I owned an 89' with many mods including an F cam and retrofitted 1969 boss 302 heads.

The car thumped nicely and was quite aggressive. I also ran solid motor and tranny mounts on my 89'. My old stang was a daily driver and surprisingly the solid mounts were not bad. In fact, they did not cause much more vibration than the regular mounts. Sure, the stick vibrated more and the car body torqued more when I revved or launched, but the ride was very doable and the throttle response was very crisp.

So, my question is not whether to run solids on the street. I already don't mind them. My question is about lowering the center of gravity in the engine bay. Can I use solid drop mounts that are normally for 351 conversions on my 302? Are there any clearance issues that you all know of?
