Hanging Idle + Leaking Brake Proportioning Valve

Good evening guys ,

Battling a couple small issues to end off the summer.

First off I've noticed a hanging idle happen a few times over the last few days. I disconnected the salt pepper shakers and I'm going to clean and tighten the 10 pins which will hopefully correct it. Unfortunately I did break one of the clips while removing but I don't think it will affect it too much.


Second issue is my stock brake proportioning valve is leaking out of the front. What are my options for replacement ? I've searched and can't seem to find any oem replacements...only ford racing adjustable. Would one of those work on a stock set up ?

You guys with idle/stall problems could save a lot of time chasing your tails if you would go through the Surging Idle Checklist. Over 50 different people contributed information to it. The first two posts have all the fixes, and steps through the how to find and fix your idle problems without spending a lot of time and money. It includes how to dump the computer codes quickly and simply as one of the first steps. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions. I actually did read it...hence me cleaning the 10 pin connectors......

More or less looking for my options on the Brake Proportioning valve.

There's an O-ring up front that tends to leak. I don't know the size so you'll need to pull it apart, and match it up....meanwhile all your brake fluid is pouring out.

I'd have a large assortment on hand if you try this.

The prop valve plug used to gut the prop valve requires you to transfer your o ring, so going that route is moot

Just ordered a used one off ebay...reputable seller so fingers crossed lol
