Has anyone here ever made their own instrument cluster?

My buddies custom 89 Mustang with Dakota Digital gauges.

I have one of the florida5.0 clusters..very nice piece..I was gonna make my own and started to make it but then someone got me the florida50 piece and Im using it with autometer Ultra Lite II its very nice piece bolts right in and was all precut and even came with blinker lights (green arrows) warning light (oil or whatever) and a high beam indicator all mounted and wired...

Heres the one I made in my car. I cut up a stock cluster to hold the gauges in.

Here are the instructions I used.

That's awesome...i love how it still looks stockish until you look close at it. I love the stock layout of the '79-86 dashes and i love how they don't pop out of the dash like a lot of the aftermarket inserts for our years' are.

Anymore pics of this setup? Any installed pics?

Not anything current, my car is buried in the garage, lol. Here are some after I put it in:

Trial fitting, didn't have any holes drilled for the smaller gauges yet. Made a piece for the pass. side too.

Console isn't in yet, but the cluster is wired up. I need to find some good a/c vents.
