on ebay someone is selling a set of 4.10 gears by MOTIVE GEAR MUSTANG & OTHERS anyone ever hear of them?

yes, Motive makes gears for our cars.

I think they mean Motive gears, for mustangs and other models. Motive is the name of the company. I don't have any experience with them, but some people like them and some don't It's probably just a preference. Do a search on here for Motive and see what comes up.

Stick to what you know... ie. Ford Gears

ok.. so im going with fms what else do i need besides the ring and pinion.. should i get a rebuild kit?

You mine as well get all new bearings, seals and a traction lock rebuild....

FMS gears come with all shims and what not. Goto Autoshack or whereever and get the bearings... I think there are 5 or so I could be wrong it's been a while

You will need new carrier shims which do not come with the FMS (pinion shims do come with them like mentioned above)
