Have any of you been around hawks racing rods or have an openion about their rods. I found a set locally that a guy wants $150 for. but he dont know the forging. They are H-Beam floating wrist pin. here is the part # on them HR-CRS-5155 or are these eagles he dont remember since he builds race motors.
Would these take 14:1 or 15:1 compression.
Thanks

Running that kind of compression you will want the best in the business. Start with Carillo and work your way down. You definitely don't want a time bomb at 7,500 RPM. For the price though, the Hawks are a great great value especially if you can get a set for $150.

If you bore the engine, try to stay within .010 or .020 of the original bore size. You will want to retain as much of the cylinder strength as possible.

As far as pistons, CP, JE, SRP, Wiseco.

Althought the HP doesn't mandate it, the RPMs do. Go for a good steel crank.
