I went to buy a replacement headlight for the 66 and the new bulb was a H6024 , the old one was 6014. The new bulb is halogen (shows on the box it is a replacement for 6014) One of my next projects is to replace all the wiring in the engine bay. Until I do, is there any danger in using this halogen bulb with the original wiring?

no problem using the halogen lamps with stock wiring. i have three vintage cars and all three have halogen headlamps and have no problems. the only problem you might run into is the headlight switch. when they get old the relay in the switch will flash on and off when it gets hot, so figure on replacing the switch fairly soon.

It's funny how one small project leads to other ones. Started out as replacing a parking light, then I noticed someone had hacked up the parking light wiring. Removed the battery, the battery tray had some rust in it. The piece the headlight goes into was covered in rust. Time to get out the grinder. Thanks for the quick response.
