Heater Hose Removal

Well, my intake finally decided to let go last night. The nipple for the heater hose broke off and spewed coolant all over my windshield as I was pulling out of a parking lot. I have the parts ordered, and will be driving my fox body for a few days. My question is ...How in the world do you remove the heater hose from the heater core nipple? It has what appears to be a white release tab on the end, but I have pushed and pulled on the tab every which way to no avail. What is the secret?

Here is a nice video that shows how to do it with the tool. It shows you what the tool looks like, so use your imagination on something that would work similar to that. This is on a Mustang v6, but the process is the same.

Wow, thanks. What ever happened to good old hose clamps? Lol

/\ for real. The OEM clamps are efficient but suck to work with. I'd rather use a regular clamp.
