Would like to build a high horsepower car in the next few years hoping to push the 700hp mark. I would love to do this in the 94-98 body style. was wondering what the best motor to use would be? I would rather use a stock motor if possible and upgrade internals and such, was thinking the 5.0 cobra but they don't make much power from factory. Open to suggestions still learning a lot, would appreciate some info on what transmissions would work out best as well.

Basically any car that has a 4.6, a coyote will bolt right in. Ford purposely used the same motor mount bosses on the coyote block for this very reason, and the bell housing pattern is also the same. Another bonus, the 4v 4.6 has virtually the same dimensions as a coyote does, so you know it will fit. So just swap in a coyote and add whatever power adder you like and hold on

Outside of the mod motors the only "stock" block that would be able to handle that hp level would be a 351w.

Without getting an aftermarket block (Dart, FRPP) you can't get that out of a stock 302.

The mod motors and coyotes can do that sort of easy with boost.
