my heads are in the shop right now, and when i put things back together, i want the engine to look clean. my emission and vacuum hoses are a mess, with many parts missing. for example, no cannister, no air cleaner, the 'tee' on top of thermo housing missing, etc. for now, i am just going to put a round 14" repro on it. my question is this: what can i get rid of that won't hurt the performance or operation of the engine?
can i put replacement filler caps on that are self contained (no hoses leading from them)?
can i cap the cannister hose fitting behind the carb?
can i leave the thermo housing 'tee' fitting hole capped? this doesn't have anything to do w/ vacuum advance? (do i even have that?)
cap the filler hose fitting at front of carb?
what vacuum hoses must remain?
