I currently have a 1.7 Kenne Bell on my fully forged 302 stroker. The blower is just way too small for my setup. I cant afford to buy a whole new 2.6 kit, so i found a used 2.2 blower only on ebay and decided to make it work. Of course the guy told me it would directly bolt on to a 2v with no extra parts, and I believed him....LOL yea right!! Hopefully this will help someone else out.

First thing Remove the whole blower and intake

A huge problem with this, is that the 2.2 is 1.25 inches longer than the 1.7. That causes the new cobra inlet to hit the rear intercooler fittings. I swapped out the intercooler fittings that were 90 degree to 45 degree fittings to make more room.

New fittings and I also ground down the front of the block they go into for more clearance

Another HUGE problem is that the 2.2 or 2.6 kit you would buy come with a spacer. That is the reason you have to have a cowl hood. I bought a .25 inch spacer for a template then had my buddy make me a 1 inch spacer. Even with this it BARELY clears the fuel rails.

Next up... Inlet - the bypass on the cobra and gt are different, so we had to mod that too

Had to get the cobra bypass welded shut

The snout that was on my 2.2 wasent for a gt so i had to order a new seal
