Hi all. I just bought a 1987 McLaren Convertible. This is a two seater which as I understand it is basically a rear seat delete. The seat belts don't retract or lock real well so I bought a new pair. I took off the plastic cover right behind the seat and it looks like the main retractable mech is under a metal piece with a slot in it for the belt. What is the best way to get in there to replace that mech? Do I have to take off the entire wrap around rear carpet trim that the top hides behind? If so, is there a trick to it?
