Ok, I get the motor and trans in the LX ,and after I bolt in the trans cross member I notice that the corner of the shifter housing on the trans is pretty close to the cut out of the floor. The holes for the trans mount and the slotted groves were almost lined up on top of one another. So I didnt think much more about it until I noticed that the amount of space between the upright portion of the K-memeber and the floor pan is quite a bit different from one side to the other. The LX is an original 5.0 car, and has no evidence of damage anywhere!! So Im going to put my other stang up on the stands and compare. Can anyone give me tips on what I should be looking for to verify that every thing is lined up before I finish buttoning up the motor.

don't qoute me on this, but i would think you can use the tubular k-member directions on the maximum motorsports site to do a stock one also. It requires 2 plumb bobs and a little patience but really is a very accurate way to assure alignment.
