Its true diff fluid smells ok to me,

the real reason im on today is im looking for some advice.

i have a 8.8 turbo coupe rear end with 3.55gears with disc brakes and im ok with that but before i put it in my car i want to replace the clutch plates and all the bearings, if i get the same bearings from ford or hunt down the same oem bearings can i get away with using the old shims from the carrier and pinion?
im not changing anything other then bearings

thanks

Yes you can, if nothing else and you want to put new ones in, just measure the stack of them and put the same amount back in.

Of course check your backlash even reusing the old ones.

I do not like the smell of gear oil... :puke:

I think Lmr or/and American muscle sell a differential rebuild kit-that has all the bearings, grease seals, trac lol clutches/shims and gear oil in it

First time I ever changed diff fluid was on a windy day. I was lying downwind. Popped the cover and got a nice breeze and blew it all in my hair and mouth
