I can buy one easily enough but don't see needing it often enough to BUY one. The ones for 289-302s don't work either, I already tried to use a buddy's. Anyone here have one they want to rent?

Or...does anyone know how to make one?

You can also use a deep 1/4 drive socket that fits the hex ( 3/8ths? ) just make sure to tape the socket to the extension ( unless you want MORE parts in your motor LOL)
That might just work! I tried a 3/8 drive socket and it would not fit into the hole in the casting :(

I used a 1/4 drive deep 5/16ths to prime my 302. The socket is thin enough to fit down inside the pilot hole for the dist. shaft.

That's exactly what I use. I usually wrap a peice of electrical tape around the extension/socket. It gives me peice of mind :)
