It's a pretty common mod on these cars, it's also fairly simple, just time consuming.

My current car is an T5 swap car. Though it is a common mod, it does take some skill and time to complete. The WestCoast write up on the link above is a good one for a thorough overview.
Mine was switched when I got it, so unfortunately I can't offer any first-hand insight into the actual process.

It's a fairly easy mod. I did this on a 91 LX, in 1992 way before the aftermarket community had caught up. I forund a junker at a yard and bought the whole drivetrain, and all the parts, like pedals, driveshaft etc. However, my AOD driveshaft fit so I just used it. All the holes and stuff are there so have fun.

I did this swap. Hardest part for me was the pedal swap. I found it much easier after I took out the drivers seat....

Yup, remove the drivers seat, the steering column and the center console, you'll thank yourself when you're working on it.
