If Ford built the car the same way they built the GT fog light bracket assy...

Between the brackets...aluminum heads and glass hood, smog and A/C I would have to guess over 100lbs have been kicked to the curb....good news is the cars stance is still decent with the nose lightened up that much.

how much do the fog lights assembly weigh? Im trying to loose some weight before I go to the track tomorrow, how hard is it to get it all out?

Looks like its a bunch of bolts, you could just unplus the fogs and remove the brackets they bolt to, since their made out of like 1/4 steel, just leave the center bracket in.
? Why leave the bracket...a heavy pc in place? There really is no advantage to leaving it at that point.

They'd have to power it with a 460... When was the last time you could get 400+ cubes in a car? Atleast 30 years ago, maybe more. '71 was the last year of the 426 for Mopar. Not sure about Ford.
Here's some I've found for passenger cars.

1971 Mopar 426
1971 Mustang 429
1974 Corvette 454
1976 Mopar 440
1976 Trans Am 455
1976 Cadillac 500
1976 Buick 455
1978 Ford/Mercury/Lincoln 460
1979 Cadillac 425
1979 Trans Am 400/403 Olds
