I heard a rumor a week or so ago that Future Shop/Best Buy in Canada are contemplating closing the doors because of poor sales and high overhead. Anyone else hear this?

I was at the RBC the other day and talking about cashing in some of my credit card points. When I told the rep that I had already done so with Future Shop gift cards, she (with a look of concern on her face) told me I should spend them up sooner than later. Its seems an inside source said that RBC is looking to move Future Shop out of their Rewards Program, because there have been rumors floating around that they along with Best Buy (who owns Future Shop incidentally) are in real financial trouble right now? They concerned with their clients getting stuck holding the bag if these gift certificates become worthless?

on another note, The source which was owned by Circuit City, just got sold to BCE... so seems will see them around for a little bit more. wonder what they will do with their contract to Rogers/videotron/starchoice
since it's their competitor and they have exclusivity contract with hem ahahha
