Long Tubes vs. Equal Lengths

Is there any difference in sound between longtubes and equal lengths? The rest of the exhaust is pro-chamber and flowpaths on both systems.

Long tubes are a lot quieter at low rpms and idle, but really come alive at WOT. Equal lengths wont sound much different than stock.

My equal lengths smoothed out my exhaust tone, on my now sold 1994 GT with o/r H pipe and flows. I didn't like it as much; seemed more civilized.

LT's will give enough of an increase in mid range torque over shorty's that you'll be able to feel it.

They will kill or reduce drone most of the time also.

Id rather run long tubes anyday over any other headers, I also want to run cat's to keep my car somewhat emmissions legal. Too bad SLP doesnt make any long tube headers or a x pipe to go along with that catback for the 5.0 stangs.
