Quick question, I have a 1986 GT, I replaced the radiator and bypass hoses with Ford Racing Silicone Hoses (the light blue ones). I noticed a spring in the lower with the old hose, didn't have clue what was for. Browsing through catalogs, I noticed you can get a replacement. Question is, with silicone hoses, do I need to get hose spring? thanks.

I thought same thing when I removed mine one day. It just fell out the house and I figured it was a goner. Nah. Guys told me to just stick it back in and go. It's been doing fine for a year now. I kept thinking it could somehow make its way into the water pump and ruin it but that won't happen either.
