McLeod Bellhousing "L" Bracket

[90' LX 5.0]

What the heck is an L bracket? and what does it do? Do I actually need one because the instructions that came with my Mcleod lead me to believe that i need one. It says it mounts inside the bellhousing? Are they referring to the clutch fork as an L bracket?

dont worry about that L bracket, i put mine in without the L bracket and works fine, install like regular bh and be done with it
