Mercury or Explorer

I was wondering if the Mercury 5.0 is the same as the Explorer 5.0.

Everything on this site talks about Explorers. I figured that ford owned both but didn't know if they would change the engine.

I am looking to get the heads and intake off of the merc 5.0 but, I want to make sure that everything will work

I believe that the mercury is a 1997

Same thing. I think the intake plaque even says Ford on it
