I know I've asked once, but How do you know were to put number 1 spark plug wire? Anywere right just as long as you follow the firing order? correct?

just like in the pic below....at top dead center the rotor will point toward #1 plug wire.

Thanks but I know that. You know how on stock distributor caps it has a 1 on were to start. Well the Msd doesn't. How do I know were to start??

put the cap on and wire it in just like it looks in the pic above...#1 will be at the back closest to the upper intake like in the pic....or take your motor to top dead center look at the rotor and it will point toward where #1 wire should go...did you remove the distributor?

You can have the wires in any rotation of the diagram shown by Bill302. I like my #1 to come off the distributor direct to #1 cylinder, so get your TDC set and figure out where you want #1 to be, then install the distributor pointing right to that location.

There was no mark on yours? Humm I seem to remember there being one on mine or atleast I thought there was one. I went through problem after problem with ford dizzy's so I got a MSD and it solved my problems.

Well ... You guys know I'm kinda old :)

I was around when we first went to the moon :D

I'm certain those Rocket Scientists didn't expend as much thought :nono:
on achieving that feat as we have
with a little dizzy on the front of a sbf :Word:

It just can't get any more complicated than this

With the 4 different strokes of intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust
on the sbf 4 stroke engine .... You'll see the piston come up twice
or
The hb can line up on the tdc mark twice

You can feel for the push of air out the #1 plug hole and then look for the
mark to line up to tdc for the correct 1 out of 2 chances you got it right ;)

Lets make this easy and follow the pic above :nice:

You stab the dizzy in where the rotor points to roughly the position
like the picture shows above.

Now ... you could have the rotor a bit to the left or right and it would
not matter as long as you have enough slack on the plug wires to
compensate or you don't have any physical obstruction blocking the
rotation of the dizzy to compensate.

The goal here is to accomplish two key things ........
1) to have the hb on tdc compression stroke
2) to have the rotor pointing to the #1 plug terminal post on the cap

The other 7 wires just follow in line .....
with the firing order just like as shown in the pic above

I remember the first "time" ( :rlaugh: ) I got my dizzy hosed up after
an intake install :bang:

I know it is not just our site ... I see this same thing on every site
I've ever been to.

But ... Really
If one just thinks about it a bit ... it ain't that big of a deal :nono:

Well Grady I turned the rotor 180 when i took out the dizzy and it didnt start, so I did another 180 which went back to were it was and the car started!
