Buddy of mine picked up a '68 for his son. It's a 289 2V and the carb looks brand spanky new but does not follow the book to well....it does and does not look like what it should.

PB, PS, Auto

Couple questions:

- There is no anti-stall dashpot. Is it required? There is one piece of linkage on the driver's side that looks to be an adjustment but there is clearly nothing to adjust.

- The Choke, mechanical, Does not seem to work at all. I have to roatate it over 90 deg lean in order to get the choke plate to open fully when the engine is completely warmed up.

Hints, choke help, etc.

The dash pot isn't a requirement. The linkage you describe sounds like maybe the auto trans kickdown linkage. Should be a rod (thin metal tube actually) that went from it to the transmission. Choke cable just needs to be adjusted.
