Fox Need Advice On T5

The z spec is a nice piece for a lightly modified cruiser. But if not building a high HP car or beating on it, the Astros deal is hard to beat for $1099. I have an older g force t5 that Tony built. I rebuilt it last fall after 11 years of duty. I sought advice and parts from Tony and will just repeat what everyone else has said.

BTW, when did the Z get down rated? Didn't it used to be 330 ft-lbs, not 300?

Where are you seeing that? I was just looking at a gearset the other day and it stated 330

Everywhere I look that sells the M-7003-Z as a complete unit has it listed as 300 ft-lbs.

I see what you mean.

Searching for gearsets only still finds them listed at 330.

Although damn the price has gone up. I remember when these were $400 a gearset.

A z spec only lasted a few weeks with about 340rwhp with one of my old setups. I personally see nothing special about it. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to buy another.
At $1500 and up, IMO you look for a TKO. Below that do what's best for your wallet.
T5's almost have random failure points, some people break them with stock cars, some run 500rwhp through them. A lot has to do with how you drive and the tires you use.
