OK, here goes. My buds 94 mustang gt has a charging gremlin. He had the factory alternator go bad last summer (August or so) and it kinda died slow and painful. Then in October timeframe, same thing. What would happen is that when the engine is cold it will owk fine for a while. Then occaasionally (more often as time goes on) he would notice that he was no longer charging and only running off the battery until the alternator stops working. With the new alternator in ithe jsut took the car out of storage and the problem is back.

We are thinking it si somewhere in the harness as if we move the harness near the firewall the problem seemingly comes and goes.

Any thoughts?

Anyone had something simmilar?

Thanks,
Chris

My car eats alternators, I replaced the plug on the alternator and it seems better. When I mount my batt in my trunk i'm going to re-wire my alternator and battery cables to see if that help at all. Autozone dosent sell the plug for the alt bu i think pep boys does.
