Hi guys,

Just so you know, I did a lot of research before coming here to ask this question and have gotten a ton of conflicting information. I just swapped the gears in my 1998 Mustang GT and need to correct the speedo. My initial research showed that I need to swap out the speedo gear for my year car. It is extremely hard to find out exactly what color/tooth gear to buy. I also had someone at LMR tell me that the only way to correct the speedo is to have the car tuned. I have a manual stock 2.73 car that I swapped to 3.73s. Can anyone help figure out what gear I need or method to fix the speedo?? Thanks in advance!

The Mustang went to electronic speedo in 1999. A 1998 will still use a gear.

A 1998 GT will use an 8-tooth drive gear in the T45. Assuming you have 245/45/17 tires or 225/50/16's , you'd need a white 23 tooth speedo gear.
