need help....need quick reply....

ok was checking my timing....and it seems as though the balancer may be spun.....i set it to TDC #1 and the timing marks were no near the pointer....i got the rotor lined up with the number one spark plug terminal on the cap and started the car.....it idled ok for a couple seconds and then the idle started jumping up and down like 300 RPMS....then it shut off....whats up???

you sure you got it at TDC on the right compression stroke?? i cant remember right now but i think someone told me there is the exhaust and intake and you might have it on the wrong stroke. turn the engine over again and try to get at TDC again and that hopefully will make it where you are supposed to be. sorry if thats not too much of help but im going on very fuzzy memory right now

well it appears the balancer is NOT spun i was just missing it....now the car just wont stay running....
