I just got a 2001 mustang gt that has new shocks, struts, wheels, tires, flowmaster catback exhaust, and has lowering springs.... I realize now that i want more power than the stock 4.6 can produce. I need some advice on what i should buy to increase its power. I am only looking to spend about $1500 so the parts need to be somewhat ecomnomical
Thanks to anyone who can give me some pointers

Welcome to the mustang disease
I recomend an all around tune up first with Royal Purple oil
Gears are a good start, if you do alot of city driving 4.10s. highway 3.73s you will also need either a speed calibrator or a tuner.
The two tuners that are popular right now are the Diablo Sport programer and the Xcalibrator2. about $400
Cold air intake and underdrive pulleys would be a good start too.

for $1500 you can do one of two things

1) buy cams and longtube headers and install them both yourself for an easy 40 rwhp

2) buy either cams OR longtube headers and pay a shop to install them. each adds about 20 rwhp.
