Trying to replace my squeaking belt tensioner on my Cobra and I don't see a way to get the damn thing off. I've included a pic of the stock tensioner and the replacement. The stock doesn't have a place to stick a rachet to get it off. Need help ASAP! :hail2:

Replacement tensioner - clearly a place to stick a rachet

Take those nuts off and it should come off. Oh, I see there is no slot for a ratchet to take the belt off. Hmm... try using something else, or maybe a friend can help to spring the tentioner. The hole looks threaded, maybe thread a bolt into it and use a coresponding socket to spring it.

Pull on the belt real hard with your hands where it goes over one of the pullies. You can overcome the pull of the tensioner and slide the belt off. I've done this many many times and it works just fine.
