Neutral safety switch problem.

Hi, I have a 79' Mustang 2.8L V6 Auto and I have a problem with my neutral safety switch always breaking. I've changed it twice and it only works for 2 weeks and then breaks again. The car is newly restored and i did put a new custom made exhaust system that changed from one single pipe to double X-pipe. The new pipe goes right under the park neutral switch and i was wondering if the heat from the exhaust is breaking it or something... does/did any of you have the same problem or know a way to fix this?

What is the failure mode? Does the switch just quit functioning without any evidence of damage or does it look like it overheated?

It just quit's functioning without any evidence

Here are 2 photos without the switch because it broke... Again.. after just 2 days. But still.. looks like nothing is wrong...

I took it out and looked inside it and it looked alright.. nothing broken or anything. This problem is a big headache
