Neutral Safety Switch

hello my friends... I hope you guys can help me... I have a 1996 mustang gt automatic that just runs in first gear... tranny doesn't slip just revs all the way in first gear... I o ready change the neutral safety switch and still the same... can some one tells me what else can I do? Thanks for your help

The PCM controls the shifting based on vehicle speed, throttle input and engine load. If the output shaft speed sensor went bad then the trans wouldn't shift and your speedo wouldn't work. You would still be able to manually shift to second from first in the manual shift positions though since that would be with the manual valve in the valve body and not the solenoids.

Are you sure you aren't in 2nd gear which I think would be fail safe mode?
