need to note that my temp sensor leaked water into the number 4, 5, and 6 cylinder plug holes. first run dead miss but not outragious.

hp calculator says:
last year:
Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 277.54 flywheel HP and 249.786 rear wheel HP. almost exactly what the dyno said.

this year:
Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 304.03 flywheel HP and 273.627 rear wheel HP.

forget the flywheel stuff i am an automatic. add about 30 hp for flywheel number or around 330hp.

there is more there. shift point and no nose over 2-3 and i can add more mph and et. so 330 flywheel is conservative.

this is still the 5.4.

now that i have cracked the hp limit of the stock intake, i am going to optimize this combo with a real tune and advancing the cam back to stock location. 1 tooth advanced. i gave up 75 rwtq at 3600 when i retarded the cams 1 tooth. the dyno said so. so i want that torque back. i will give up a few top end hp, but that was for number's sake not drag racing. you tell me how much 75 rwtq will help my 60' time. .1? .2?

shift progamming will yield me 1. - .2 or so in shifting and a little more in tune. i will see if i can get it into 7.999 before i yank it.

.58 is a long way from 7.999 but there's more. in the effort to get a dyno number, i pulled the x-pipe out. it really hurt low end, and in reality didn't help top end at all. so add the x-pipe torque and HP to the equation.

the original dyno... 340rwtq and 250 rwhp. never was run at the track. i feel like i am near that torque number right now, maybe 320 or so. no way i get better than 1.85 in the 60', but you never know. my suspension is ideal for off the line.

we are going to the dyno this spring. i may wait to swap until then. i gave up on this motor too soon.

the car is a solid 8.45 @ 82.5 car right now with shifts set right.

to be honest i thought that would be the starting point 2.5 years ago.

my first ever run was on this motor 9.5 at 82 mph. the short runner intake was a torque failure. but it did hp like hell. useless in my estimation. so i go back the torque and let hp fall where it may.

dyno guess with correct cam phasing, and x-pipe??? 285rwhp @ 5000 and 360rwtq @ 3800 then the motor goes bye-bye.
