New guy here with just a few questions

Hey guys,
First post here, but I have been apart of the mustang for about 2 years now (Only 18) and I am on my second stang.

My current stang is a 1994 Gt with the stock 5.0. The few mods I have are UD pullies, 4.10 gears, and a CAI. Recently, I have been saving up all the extra money I can, which has been hard. So, I decided I want to get some more power out of my motor. I have had a plan in mind but I can't seem to decide. Here is the setup that I have been thinking of:

-Trickflow Top End kit
-LT headers and Prochamber
-Fuel pump
-Injectors and MAF
-Motor mounts(mine are cracked)
-Throttle body and adapter
-New King Cobra Clutch as well.

The only problem I see with this set up would my motor has 175,xxx miles on it and I'm not too sure how this would run on that bottom end. If any of you have had any first hand experience with a high mileage block a top end kit please let me know.

If any of you have a better setup that could accomadate everythin my car would need including fuel for about $4000 please let me know.

I know it can be tough to save up the money :bang:
but
Seems like you have been disciplined :nice:

I'd advise you to take care of basic things first like those motor mounts :)

With 175K on the clock ... there is reason to be concerned

Here are some budget minded thoughts :shrug:

You might consider a used but fresher motor from the junk yard :shrug:

IMHO ... you wanna build with a solid foundation
then
Do the mods as money allows

If you stick with OEM parts you can substantially improve the power

It won't be that much less than if you went with after market parts

A plan that will allow you to play but save a good bit of cash

I guess another way to look at the idea is 10 to 15% less power
but
A cost savings of way more than 10 to 15%

Tons of these combos have been done :)
so
Just search the forum to see what others have done with the OEM parts ;)

I like the idea of building up a nice little budget 347 - that'll get ya a fresh block and a little more power for the future.

http://www.fordstrokers.com has a good rep (from what I've heard) and some decent prices.

The Trickflow kit is an awesome choice - figure about $3,000 or so to buy it and pickup the miscellaneous bits and pieces you'll also need.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought about that. I may have to look into that. However, since the first post I did find this motor on ebay and I think I may choose this as the route to go. I can wait a few more months to save some more money. Hows this long block look? I would feel more comfortable with a motor from a local source :)

I would want to hear it run
or
Be able to do a compression check
or
Be able to verify the mileage

You know ... have some kind of assurance it is as claimed by the seller
