Nice, I'm 19 and working on an 88' lx convertible myself. Seeing what you have I say start with roughly cleaning the engine and determine how rough the condition is. It's clearly going to be a bit of a project vehicle and will be fun, but I'd personally check and make a list on what and how much of the engine needs work. Alot of repair is based on budget and the severity of work that's needed.

That should get you started off well and hope the v8 is in decent condition. I'm stuck with the non turbo 4 cyl automatic and it's fun knowing I can add the turbo later when I get it running well.

I have a list already!
