Hey guys,

You talked me out of a Mustang a month or so back and I'm glad you did. I just picked up this car after the owner had it in storage for 6 years. Took me a week but she is running awesome.

I got a 1988 Mustang GT T-Tops.

The previous owner had the following done before placing it in storage:

Professionally repainted Ford Oxford White
Quarter Glass replaced with OEM Glass
New Side Trim
New Cobra Rear Valance
New Saleen Wing
New Cobra Front Grille
New OEM Headlights and Markers
New Ford Emblem on Hatch
New Pony in Grille
New Hatch Struts
New Hatch Striker
New Fog Lights
Fog Light Stone Guards
140 Amp Alternator
BBK Headers (Ceramic Coated)
High Flow Cats
Dynomax 2.5” Catback Exhaust System
High Torque Starter
BBK Progressive Rate Springs
Hotchiks Camber and Caster Plates
Super Chip
Keyless Entry
Alarm

I'm trying to find a nice set of wheels and tires for it but am having a hard time cause I'm not sure what exactly will fit after having the BBK Progressive Rate Springs installed so any advice you can give me will be a plus!

After I get some wheels I'm gonna put subframe connectors in and I wanna change out the mufflers. I think it needs to have a little more sound.

I'm also thinking after I get it looking and sounding the way I want, I'm gonna start scouring some junkyards and do GT40 Heads and Upper and Lower Intake. Maybe a cam? It is an Auto though and from what I've been reading I can't go with much more than an "E".

What do you guys think?

Looks great man, T-tops are great. I regret selling my 87 GT t top way back when. Looks nice and clean. Some different wheels would set it off. GT40 stuff is OK but after spending the money to have them freshened up your almost at the price for some used aluminum heads that flow much better. Best of luck man.

put these rims on it.... there 98 gt split 5's

i had b-lowering springs with no isolators, sn-95 front spindles, fox length moser 5 lug axles.

if i were to do it again i would go with these rims with 95 or 98 rear axles to push rims out more towards fender lip. im a huge fan of oem rims on a fox

Since it's 4 lug and your options are limited just get some Pony's for now. Anything is better than those turbines. If you want more options you will need the 5 lug conversion done. Do Not buy 4-lug Cobra R's or equivalent. They just don't look good in 4 lug imo, do it right. I have Weld's and don't really like them. However I'll wait until the 5 lug conversion is done.

Might be an option for you if this is a look you like. Check out the pic. These are 4 lug.

Nice car, like the white with T-tops :nice:. Don't see alot of T-tops anymore so hold onto it. Funny how people still jump on the 4 lug cobra deal, do what you want. I have the chrome ford racing r's on my white gt and they look good with the white, and suprising to many others they get alot of compliments at car shows and meets. It's all personal opinion.

Thanks for all of the tips. Those white wheels look great on the car. I was wondering what white on white would look like.

I'm definitely not a fan of my turbines. I cleaned those things up spotless and in one drive they looked like hell again!

I'm in South Jersey near the Atlantic City area.

I keep checking craigslist every day for used wheels but no luck.

The car has 151K on it but was sitting for 6 years in storage before I picked it up. Absolutely no rust at all which is what made me jump on it!

I went through everything. Gasket replacement and a lot of cleaning. Fluid changing and parts washing. This thing runs like a top right now. I just had to spend my first 2 weeks with it preparing it for starting.
