New to the forum, got a couple ?'s

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie so forgive me if you've all answered these ?s before. I have an 86 GT and I want to put a short belt on it to run just the essentials (crank, water pump, alternator). Does anyone know what size belt I would need to do this or should I get out the string and measure? This isn't a permanent fix, I just want to run it like this at the dragstrip. Also, I would like to run my car with no a/c and no smog pump. What do I need to do this? Thanks

With the way the water pump runs (counter clockwise) you must have something on the drivers side of the motor for the belt to run on. Now if you want to permantley run the motor with just alt,water pump and crank then you muct take apart the tensioner and reverse the spring like I did so you can run just what you need.
