One Wire Alternator Issue

  1. Im finishing up my 351w swap and I used a summit one wire alternator. When the car is off I can crank my radio just fine. When the car is running the radio cuts off and turns back on at about 3/4 volume. the radio is a brand new kenwood and the alternator is brand new. Im using the recommended gauge wire for the alternator to the battery. Anyone have any suggestions??
  2. Do you bring the rpms up to get the alt to start charging? Maybe a grounding issue within the car

  3. Only thing i can think is that when I ran my one wire alt it was rebuilt with a self exciting regulator, not sure how the alt would have something to do with this problem. have you tried a different radio to see if the same thing happens?
